Formerly known as Supportive Living Services (SLS), Community Support Services are direct services provided in home and community settings to help individuals in acquiring, maintaining and improving skills needed to live successfully in the community. The goals for the individuals served through this program include gaining independence and enjoying meaningful, integrated community activities.
DEC currently serves 85 people through this program, providing for both individuals and group supports. You and your family together can determine the goals for this service, and may include just about anything. Individuals supported through this program often need help with every day activities such as: going to doctor appointments; grocery shopping, doing the laundry; budgeting skills; attending planned social activities and volunteering in the community.
